After tea I had about an hour to journal. I went to the lobby and asked the bellman to call me a taxi for the short trip to the theatre. It was only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the theatre but I wanted the experience of riding in an iconic London black taxi and it was completely worth it. The driver arrived within five minutes and the car was impressively spacious (it could easily accommodate 6 people comfortably), and the cleanest car I think I have ever ridden in, including my own. The ride was a bit pricey but I can now say I have ridden in a London taxi.

I arrived at the Apollo Victoria Theatre for the 7:30 showing of Wicked. I grabbed a cocktail and made my way to my seat in the dress circle. My seat was actually center stage with a commanding view and I was on the rail so no tall people in front blocking my field of view. The performance was absolutely amazing! The entire cast were phenomenally talented, the visuals beautifully done, and the storyline brilliantly written. If you haven’t seen Wicked, do yourself a favor and go!
I walked back to the hotel after the show and passed another West End theatre where Hamilton is on. The walk was only about 10 minutes and, though cold and windy, the time passed quickly as I sang random lyrics in my head like Defying Gravity and Popular.

A nice hot shower, a warm comfy bed, and I was out. A wonderfully amazing, slightly challenging, fantastic day one to my adventures!
